There are those who dream of treading the playing fields and those who, on the other hand, dream of telling their stories.
Samuel Pratelli, 24, originally from the province of Trento, belongs to both categories: after playing soccer for more than 15 years, he decided to turn his passion for the sport into a switched-on microphone and a voice capable of conveying emotions.
From passion to study: meeting with Sport Business Academy
The turning point for Samuel came through an online announcement: the Course in Sports Radio Reporting and Sports Telecasting Business Academy (SBA), with lecturers of the caliber of Francis Repice, Tommaso Turci, Peppe Di Giovanni e Fernando Siani.
"When I saw that Repice, the voice that made me fall in love with radio commentary, was teaching the course, I knew I couldn't miss it," Samuel says.
During the training, he found not only high-level theoretical lectures, but also a practical and dynamic approach: "The drills with Peppe Di Giovanni were crucial. He challenged us right away in front of the microphone, pushing us to overcome fear and improve from time to time."
From education to the world of work
SBA training has been a real stepping stone for Samuel. From the first weeks, he began training on his own, commenting on games and creating his own style.
"I learned that you have to throw yourself, make mistakes and listen to yourself again. That's the only way to grow," he explains.
Shortly after the course was completed, the first professional opportunities came.
Samuel was chosen by Itas Trentino Volleyball to take care of the telecasts of the A2 Series women's team, a collaboration that continues to this day. In parallel, he became official speaker of AC Trento 1921, his city's soccer team, and radio commentator for a local radio station, following Trent Football matches live.
Not only that, today he collaborates with the National Amateur League of Trento as a speaker for finals and promotion playoffs and participates in organizing the famous international youth tournament "Golden Chick", which hosts clubs such as Juventus, Barcelona, Inter Milan and River Plate.
The value of SBA training
For Samuel, the real strength of the SBA course lies in the balance between technical training e professional mindset:
"The course gave me the confidence to put myself forward, but above all the knowledge that perseverance, courage and determination count in this business. One should not be afraid of mistakes, but learn from them."
Today, at only 24 years old, Samuel can already boast a respectable resume, the result of commitment, passion and focused training that has helped him turn a dream into a profession.
Looking ahead, Samuel has no doubts: "I want to continue to grow and get to work at a national broadcaster. Reporting the big matches live is every reporter's dream. I believe in it and will continue to strive to achieve it."
Samuel's testimony
Samuel's journey within the Sport Business Academy began with the course in Radio Reporting and Telecasting, which was an experience that allowed him not only to acquire the technical skills needed to tell the story of sports, but also to develop the right mindset to approach this profession with passion and professionalism.
Today Samuel puts what he has learned to use in different realities: he is commentator for Itas Trentino Volleyball, official speaker of AC Trento 1921 e radio commentator for a local radio station, in addition to working with the National Amateur League of Trento for events and finals and to be part of the organization of the prestigious international tournament Golden Chick.
Looking back, he recognizes that the most important lesson learned during his training is one that continues to guide him every day:
"Don't be afraid to make mistakes. Mistakes are part of the journey."
